HOFOR’s Labour Clause – In Brief
For all construction, renovation and service contracts for HOFOR in Denmark, our labour clause is included.
What is a labour clause?
A labour clause is a contractual condition between HOFOR and the supplier. It has two purposes:
- Protecting employees: ensuring fair pay and proper working conditions.
- Protecting businesses: preventing unfair competition and social dumping.
Why is it important?
- Denmark has no statutory minimum wage. Pay and working conditions are determined through collective agreements.
- The labour clause ensures that everyone working on HOFOR’s projects in Denmark has conditions that at least correspond to a representative Danish collective agreement entered into by the most representative labour market parties in Denmark within the given field of work and which is in force throughout the territory of Denmark.
- It applies to the entire supply chain – including all sub-suppliers.
If the labour clause is not complied with, it constitutes a breach of contract.
