Get an interactive presentation of the important role of cities in the sustainable transformation.
You will explore the global development through databased storytelling and how sustainable city planning can be part of the solution to climate change. You will further get an introduction to sustainable city planning, explore different potentials and be presented to implemented examples from Copenhagen.
Together, we will explore how Copenhagen Municipality and HOFOR, as a multi-utility company, supports the sustainable transformation of the city. This will include an overview of political goals, future strategies and existing implementations.
You can choose between two sub-themes:
- Sustainable utility in a sustainable city
- Living Labs, consumer behavior and smart solutions
Sustainable utility in a sustainable city:
This subtheme focuses on HOFOR – Copenhagen Greater Utility Company as a multiutility company. This includes looking into HOFORs company strategy and seeing how the integrated utility system is part of the sustainable transformation of Copenhagen. With examples from HOFORs focus areas – CO2-neutral energy production, a climate adapted region, a sustainable water supply and wastewater treatment – you will get an overview of implementations and how the different technologies work.
Living Labs, consumer behavior and smart solutions:
This subtheme explores how Living Labs in Copenhagen with focus on utilities are contributing to creating sustainable cities. You will get an understanding of how future consumer behavior and smart consumer solutions can be developed, tested, and create businesses through Living Labs. With examples from ENERGY&WATER as a Living Lab, you will get to explore how we can use pedagogical tools to build bridges between the actors of the city and create sustainable cities.
