HOFOR works tirelessly to make our supply solutions greener and more sustainable. In the field of energy, HOFOR focuses its efforts on energy transition, with the goal of making Copenhagen the first CO2-neutral capital in the world.
HOFOR works with energy savings in residential and commercial buildings, the erection of wind turbines, conversion of the district heating system from steam to water, the establishment of a new biomass-fired power station, geothermal energy, the expansion of district cooling and the phasing out of fossil fuels.
Town gas is increasingly based on biogas from our treatment plants, and furthermore replaces electricity-based technology at a number of industrial plants in Copenhagen.
