Residents of the Danish capital, Copenhagen, are very much in favour of the city’s many wind turbines. And they are avid supporters of the city’s goal of becoming the world’s first carbon-neutral capital in 2025. Such are the findings of a new citizen survey conducted by the analysis institute Epinion for HOFOR – Greater Copenhagen Utility.
- 87 percent are in support of the Copenhagen Climate Plan to make Copenhagen carbon-neutral by 2025.
- 83 percent are of the opinion that Copenhagen’s many wind turbines are the city’s green landmark.
- 71 percent are positive towards the building of new wind turbines in Copenhagen’s outer harbour areas.
- More than 80 percent think that more offshore wind turbines should be built further out in the Sound and south of Amager.
